A
dding newsfeeds into your site improves relevancy when the feed's topic is related to your content. There are two main problems with including feed content published in your site.
Good SEO example (including content from an external source)

Source - Often times newsfeed content is published as a wrapper-type display or as a frame. This content is not well received by Search Engines. Their search bots discount the relevancy because it doesn't originate from your site.

Style - displaying RSS type newsfeed has formatting limitations.
There are, however, tools and techniques that can overcome both problems...

What if you could build your own repository of good content to be sent to a requesting website. Is this capability valuable?
If you look to the right, (Or CLICK Here first ) you'll see content from Narrow Path Hosting's "Workplace Prayer" Blog. It is published and displayed using a RSS Newsfeed method (using the RD_RSS component).
The only problem / opportunity is the content is sent only under certain conditions (Most recent, most hits, title...). What is needed are options to publish based on the day of the year, the week of the year, or selected randomly from all of the available articles.
I need help with this project - some php work with mySQL queries.
Anyone interested ?

Embedding a Google Gadget |
This is a small test to show how to embed a Google Gadget directly into content.
It is easy to use the syndicated Google Gadgets and embed them into your website.
Here's what I did.
- Select a Google Gadget from their list (CLICK HERE to see them ).
- Click on "Add to your webpage"
- Copy to code
- In Joomla's back end,
- create a new module position
- create a new module
- In HTML mode, paste the gadget code.
- select the newly created module position
- save it
- create a static content item (it doesn't have to be static)
- use the mos load position to inster the created module
